Hello and Welcome!
My name is Kiandra Daniels and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the State of Texas. I completed my undergraduate studies at Prairie View A&M University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I then attended graduate school at Texas Woman’s University to complete a Master’s of Science in Family Therapy.
I have worked with adults and teens in various settings including individual therapy, inpatient care, intensive outpatient, family therapy, and couples therapy. I enjoy working with black LGBTQ individuals and couples, and heterosexual/cisgender black women and men (age 16-65) who struggle with high-functioning anxiety or depression, identity, sexuality, relationship/dating issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and childhood and workplace trauma. I also have a special interest in working with struggling black college students, specifically HBCU students, who are transitioning into adulthood. I believe that everyone is capable of acquiring the necessary change for better lives. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic space to open the door for improved lives and empower individuals to strive for autonomy. In the future, my aspiration is to eradicate the stigma and normalize conversations surrounding black mental health by advocating for research catered to the unique development of black people. We are all human and need a helping hand during the most difficult times of our lives. I am passionate about providing my services and feel joy knowing that my work has been impactful. Modalities that I prefer include Solution-Focused and Experiential Family Therapy . I am also trained in Trauma-informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I love making/discovering art and music! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trying new foods, travelling and hitting the gym. Also, my dog Lavish is my world.
